Gym Policies

The following gym policies apply to all AIM Athletics athletes:

Please note: This information is for recreational classes. This does not apply to athletes on a team.

Proper Gymnastics Clothing
Gymnastics is a very physical activity and proper attire that permits an athlete to move without restriction is required. A leotard is the suggested attire for girls and gym shorts and a T-shirt for boys. All athletes should remove all jewelry and hair shoulder length or longer should be tied back.

Warm-Up Period
We begin each class with a warm-up period. Warming up helps athletes to develop flexibility and strength and aids in safe participation in any gymnastics activity. It is essential that all athletes arrive for their class on-time so they can properly warm-up.

Late Arrival
Athletes who arrive 20 minutes or later for class will not be allowed to join the class. Please see the front desk for a make-up.

Missed Classes
No refunds shall be given for any missed classes.

Make-up Classes
Make-up classes are allowed and must be made up within one month of the missed class, based on availability. They are not guaranteed. If a class is not available then the athlete may attend one open gym session at no charge. You must be a current registered athlete, paying tuition to attend make-up classes. The athlete will need to secure the appropriate form at the front desk prior to attending the make-up class or open gym as a make-up.

Class Instructions
Class instructors are subject to change without notice though we do our best to provide consistency for all of our athletes.

Safety Rules
Please stay out of the workout gym area until your class starts. Athletes are not permitted on the equipment unless they are with a coach.

Water Only
Eating food or candy and drinking anything other than water is not allowed. We encourage all athletes to come to gym with a full bottle of water to utilize throughout their workout as needed. Chewing gum is not allowed, as it can be dangerous during upside-down activities.

Responsibility
AIM Athletics is not responsible for any exterior areas of the complex where we are located. AIM Athletics is not responsible for the security of vehicles or the contents of your vehicle. Please secure your vehicle and place contents out of sight.

Parent Conduct
Parents are not permitted on the gym floor. Coaches may invite parents to accompany their athlete into the gym as an exception, but this is the discretion of the coach. You are welcome to observe all classes from the parent observation area.

Siblings
Siblings are welcome at AIM Athletics with parental supervision. Siblings may not be dropped off with a student that has a class. We cannot and are not equipped to babysit siblings of athletes.

Parent Observation Area
There can be no running or loud play in the parent observation area. We have athletes studying and parents working remotely in this area, therefore your courtesy and consideration is appreciated. It is the responsibility of those using this area to keep it clean and tidy.

Athlete Pick Up
Parents are responsible for notifying AIM Athletes in advance any time someone other than the ordinary individual(s) shall be picking up a student.

Athlete Drop Off
Athletes may not be dropped off any earlier than 10 minutes prior to their class and picked up no later than 10 minutes after their class. Athletes are also not permitted to wait outside after class for their ride. Please emphasize to your athlete the importance of this rule. Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.

Photos, Video and Social Media
On occasion photos and video will be taken at AIM Athletics. The AIM Athletics Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and other social media outlets are used to share information about gym events, photos, video, fundraising and other activities promoting the gym and team spirit. Athletes (if identified) will be identified by first name ONLY unless OKed separately for college recruiting purposes. Group photos will only state which team the athletes are part of but will not list team members by name. Information such as school location, address or city of residence will not be used in any posting. Negative comments will not be tolerated and will be promptly removed. Only polite and positive commentary is acceptable. Please contact the front desk if you have any questions.
